Disney Princess Bike Review
When my daughter turned 5 this November, she told what she wanted for her birthday. I was expecting her to request the usual cute Barbie doll in princess outfits and other typical girly toy, but this time she wanted a new children’s bicycle. “I want a bike” was what she said. To be honest, I was not expecting this from a very young girl, who has a real preference for girly toys and clothes. Her past birthday presents consisted of dolls, cute clothes (most were in bright shades of pink), girly shoes, doll houses, stuffed toys, and any other cute stuff you could think of. This time, it was entirely different, or at least it sounds really different from what it used to be. She wants to have a bike on her birthday, but not just any bike – she wanted a cute pink princess kids cycle.
Nevertheless, she wants a new kid’s bike and I’m was happy she wanted to learn to ride a bike, but I was initially not sure where to look for the best child’s bike that fits her personality and experience? This was when I decided to search online for the perfect bike for my daughter, who had never ridden a bike before. After a couple of hours doing my research on the perfect ‘birthday’ gift, I decided to go for the Disney Princess Bike for girls (12” wheels).
You might ask why I chose the Disney Princess Bike (12-inch wheels) for my daughter. I chose it, not only because it had rave reviews and very good price as a discount bicycle priced well at Amazon, but mainly because its characteristics fit very well with what my daughter wanted. She simly adored the bike.

What to look for when buying your child’s bike?
My research, led me to various websites that feature bicycle reviews, including Amazon. What I learned are the main factors to consider when purchasing a kids cycle, below I’ve
- Safety
- Ergonomics
- Wheels
- Brakes
- Aesthetics
It’s a Bike for Kids
The Disney Princess Girl’s Bike is ideally for kids around 3 to 6 years of age. Its steel frame, which has a bright pink finish, is designed to carry a child around 3 to 6 years old. Despite its looks, it could withstand the pressure and yet, it only weighs approximately 25 pounds. When the assembly is done right, the bicycle would prove to be very sturdy and very safe to use – absolutely perfect for little kids.
Ergonomically Designed, “If the shoe fits…”
Ergonomics and proper fit is one of the key aspects involved in the process of choosing a bicycle. This is true even for toddler bikes and tricycles like the popular Radio Flyer. Kids, especially beginners, should at least feel comfortable when riding their first bikes. If you child is comfortable on their bike, they will be encouraged to ride more often. Otherwise, there is a greater chance for them to feel discouraged and not enjoy bicycling. We have all hear a lot of these scenarios before and in worse cases, injuries do happen. Ergonomics and bike the fits your child is not something that should be taken lightly.
Additionally, choosing the right bike for your kid with the design of the strong frame is essential. When your child is seated on the bike, make sure that your child could easily get a hold of the handlebars. Also, these handlebars should not serve as a hindrance to your kid’s knees when pedaling.
As for the Disney Princess Girl’s Bike, its small frame is proportioned very well, which proves to be very suitable for kids aged between 3 to 6 years. The handlebars can be easily reached by small arms and the pedals are placed away from the handlebars to prevent small knees from touching the handlebars. In addition, the Disney Princess Girl’s Bike features a quick-release padded seat post that is very easy to adjust as your child grows and very stable when tightened properly.
“If There’s a Wheel, There’s a Way“
If your child is really scared of riding bicycles, then a good way to eliminate your child’s fears and boost confidence is to provide an extra pair of wheels. You will want to consider training wheels.
The Disney Princess Girl’s Bike features a pair of training wheels, which enables your little one to train at ease during her first few weeks of riding the bicycle. These training wheels are also detachable, which enables your child to use the bike without the need to buy another bike your child has learned to ride without them.
In addition, the bike is single-speed, which means that it can be easily repaired because the mechanical aspect of the bike is very easy to repair.
Rear Coaster Brakes
It is important that the brakes should be fully functional even for small children’s bikes. After all “STOPPING” is the most important part of riding a bike. The Disney Princess Bike features a built-in coaster-style brake which operates the rear tire. The coaster brakes enable your child to activate rear brakes by pedaling backwards. With this rear brake, your kid won’t have to place her foot on the ground just to make her bike stop. Altogether, a rear coaster brake equipped on the Disney Princess Bike makes it easier to ride and safer to use for beginners.
Perfect for Your Princess
Little girls sure are picky when it comes to the aesthetics or the overall look of their toys. This is one of the main reasons why the Disney Princess Bike is perfect for little girls. Its pink finish, along with its dazzling decals, would surely make every girl want to have one. Not only does it bring out any young girl’s personality, it would definitely make her feel like a real princess.

The Disney Princess Girl’s Bike’s price should range around $90 from Amazon.![]()

What are others saying?
It appears that several young girls’ parents were fascinated by the bike. In fact, the bike has received rave reviews gaining a 5 stars rating on Amazon.
Here is a few of what they had to say:
- “Bike is very solid and my daughter loves it.”
- “Beautiful bike.”
- “Good product for girls.”
- “Good item, good price, highly recommendable.”
- “Wonderful buy!”
Are there any complaints about the product?
Yes, this children’s bike has received some complaints, but there were only a few. In fact, the complaints were mostly about the instruction sheet and the packaging of the bike, not the bike’s quality or operation per se. A lot of parents complained about the instruction sheet that comes with the bike, but they did say that the bike was very easy to assemble. If you think that you really need a good instruction sheet or probably a few tips on how to do so, I suggest you look it up in the Internet. There should be a lot of guides for you to follow through.
As for the packaging, one buyer was concerned on how the small parts, such as bolts and nuts, were not placed inside a small bag, but as far as I know, there were no complaints for lost parts on the arrival of the package. Extra parts can always be requested from the manufacture if missing!
